DELAWARE, Ohio --
A Newark man pleaded guilty to making sexually threatening phone calls to female real estate agents in Central Ohio.
John Daniels, 45, pleaded guilty to four counts of telecommunications harassment – fifth-degree felonies – in Delaware County Tuesday.
Daniels made threatening phone calls after he used another person's name to activate a cell phone he purchased from a Wal-Mart store in Heath.
Six area realtors reported similar behavior from Daniels, claiming he made contact with them, requesting to see a house.
Each conversation with the women resulted in Daniels telling the women that he was going to sexually assault them.
A sentencing hearing has been set for July 13 at 2 p.m.
He could face a maximum sentence of four years in prison. He was convicted of similar charges in 1994 and 1998 in Franklin County Municipal Court.
